Imperatrace Property
East Ashland Ln and Irish Ln.
Nate Trimble

The Imperatrice Property is a parcel of land owned by the City of Ashland just East of I-5. It is an open, sweeping habitat perfect for viewing wintering raptors. Rough-legged Hawks, Ferruginous Hawks, Prairie Falcons, and large numbers of Red-tailed Hawks and American Kestrels and several other raptor species can all be seen in this grassland habitat. Scattered bushes also provide habitat for wintering sparrows, goldfinches, and bluebirds. Anyone interested in practicing hawk I.D. while being treated to beautiful views of Ashland and the Southern Cascades is invited to join us.

Come prepared for cold, windy weather, mud, and a bit of uphill hiking.

Directions: Coming from I-5, take exit 19 off of I-5 and go right on S Valley View Rd. Shortly after this, take a left on Eagle Mill Rd and then the first left on Butler Creek Rd. Cross over I-5 then go right on E Ashland Lane. You will pass the Ashland Greenhouses (please do not park here) and come to the corner of E Ashland Ln and Irish Lane. There is space to park on the corner.

RSVP: There is no group limit on this trip but participants are encouraged to email me beforehand so I know about how many people are coming.
