Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue is  hosting a free 3 hour seminar called “Surviving An Outdoor Emergency: Practical Advice on What to Do If You are in Trouble in the Backcountry.”

Date: Friday, Aug. 4

Time: 6 p.m.

Location: Smullin Health Education Center, 2825 East Barnett Road, Medford

No charge, but seating is limited to 400. First come, first served.

This seminar is being taught by Peter Kummerfeldt, who is the retired Survival Training Director of the US Air Force Academy.

This is really a great event that we feel will benefit our local population. If this three hour seminar means one less lost person, one less search, then we’d consider this a complete success.
